Ozone Safety Awareness

The Ozone Training Program is designed to educate participants on the safe production and use of ozone, a substance that poses several health hazards. These hazards can vary from minor, short-term effects to more serious chronic health issues and, in extreme cases, death.  In Ontario workplaces, it is essential for employers to implement protective measures to safeguard workers from hazardous biological or chemical agents, including ozone. Employers must ensure that exposure limits are strictly observed as mandated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and associated regulations. Participants in this program will learn about ozone (O₃), a potent oxidizing agent that is extensively used across various industries.  Ozone’s unique properties make it effective for purifying air and water, eliminating unwanted odours, and disinfecting surfaces.
