Labour Trafficking Awareness Training

This comprehensive labour trafficking training program addresses the urgent need for businesses to understand and comply with Bill S-211 requirements while protecting vulnerable workers in their operations and supply chains.  The course provides detailed coverage of the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, including reporting obligations for qualifying businesses with assets over $20 million, revenue exceeding $40 million, or 250+ employees.  Participants will learn to identify labour trafficking across various sectors including construction, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, and domestic work, while understanding how traffickers recruit, control, and exploit victims through debt bondage, document confiscation, and threats.  The training emphasizes practical recognition of warning signs such as too-good-to-be-true job offers, employer threats regarding deportation or immigration status, withholding of identification documents, and unsafe working conditions.  Attendees will gain expertise in understanding the vulnerabilities of at-risk populations including migrant workers, newcomers, students, and individuals with uncertain immigration status, while learning how to implement effective prevention strategies and appropriate response protocols when trafficking is suspected.
